The Nanny

The Nanny TV show was a 30 minute comedy series about a Jewish woman from Queens who got fired by and simultaneously dumped by her boyfriend. While selling cosmetics door-to-door, she arrived at the home of a wealthy, widowed Broadway producer who mistakenly believed that she had come to apply for the job as nanny of his three children. She took the job and the family came to love her "no-nonsense", "tell it like it is" personality! The contrast between Nanny's personality and the family's "stiff upper lip" demeanor presented many opportunities for laughs!
