Benson and Robert Guillaume Show

The Benson TV show was a 30 minute comedy series about an African-American butler (Benson) with a "tell it like it is" attitude who goes to work for a dim-witted (but really nice guy) Governor. While actually hired only to head the Governor's household, Benson quickly uses his intellect and fortitude to help the Governor deal with his wacky staff in a "no nonsense" way that the Governor just isn't capable of pulling off himself. To say the least, the staff was not happy with the meddling from this meddling butler!

The Robert Guillaume Show was a sitcom vehicle for Robert Guillaume, the former star of the ABC hit series Benson and of the popular Soap. It aired during mid-1989 on the ABC television network.The series was about a divorced marriage counselor who becomes involved in an interracial romance and who tries to balance the pressures from his two children, his sardonic live-in father and his practice.
